Females for Sale

Well, it had to happen sooner or later - we've been at this long enough that it's come time to move on some of our girls. Mother alpaca and cria.

We are selling primarily experienced mothers, so we can tell you how good a mum they are, how much milk they make, and an idea of what sort of cria they can produce. We bought some of these females because we were (and still are) excited about the daughters and granddaughters they could produce. (Actually, in most cases, we have a daughter or granddaughter, which makes it a little easier to part with them...).

We believe in being straight up about the animals we sell. Drop us a line with any questions and we'll spill everything we know about these gals. They come with their full medical and maintenance records -- every drench and jab, body weights, any vet calls, etc. And as always, new owners/breeders get lots of support and hand-holding.

We also have boys for sale, as well as reasonably priced stud services!

2016/2017 update: We have several females to list in all colours. Will be putting up better/more recent photos as weather allows.

Mora

DOB: 12 January 2008 - solid white
IAR: 1001729
Price: $400 +GST 2-in-1!
Mora, a daughter of Turi Moana Saffron, by Cedar House Fredrick, is a solid, no-nonsense female and reliable mother who produces an amazing amount of milk for an alpaca. Her 2015 fleece was 32 micron, and it fairly glitters, it's so bright. Her cria so far have been whites or fawns, with improved fleeces from their sires -- we are keeping two of her daughters in our breeding program, so we can confirm she "breeds up"! At no extra cost, Mora can be mated to the Alpacas Rampant stud of your choice, with a live cria guarantee.

Mora

Kirala

DOB: 27 September 2012 - solid white
IAR: 1012486
Price: $700 +GST 2-in-1!
From a blue-black dam and a white sire -- NZ Southern Zeus, it's anybody's guess what colour cria Kirala could produce. Her 2015 fleece was 24.8 micron. She will be sold pregnant to the Alpacas Rampant stud of your choice, with a live cria guarantee.

Kirala

Helvetica

DOB: 313 December 2009 - light fawn
IAR: 1007280
Price: $800 +GST 2-in-1!
From one of our best females, Homerange Cinnamon Snow, and Hemicoyyo Pinocchio -- both light fawns -- Helvetica has nonetheless been producing dark brown or black cria when put to our brown-black male, Ceasar. She's a very attentive mother, whose cria have grown out well. Her 2015 fleece was 24 micron. She will be sold pregnant to the Alpacas Rampant stud of your choice, with a live cria guarantee.

Helvetica

Isari

DOB: 10 November 2011 - dark fawn
IAR: 1001741
Price: $800 +GST 2-in-1!
From Hemicoyyo Pinocchio and Rampant Gandiva, Isari gets her striking vicuņa pattern from her grandsire, Cedar House Frederick. Her 2015 fleece was 26.6 micron. She had a gorgeous little black boy last year, now weaned, and will be sold pregnant to the Alpacas Rampant stud of your choice, with a live cria guarantee.

Isari

Shaheen

DOB: 08 March 2011 - solid medium brown
IAR: 1009537
Price: $600 +GST 2-in-1!
Calling it "solid medium brown" actually does a disservice to Shaheen's lovely thick chestnut fleece. From Hemicoyyo Pinocchio and Greenacres Jodie, she's produced black or fawn cria depending on the male she's put to. She's an excellent, attentive mother. Her 2015 fleece was 28 micron. She will be sold pregnant to the Alpacas Rampant stud of your choice, with a live cria guarantee.

Shaheen

Gandiva

DOB: 16 December 2008 - black
IAR: 1004148
Price: $800 +GST
A daughter of Cedar House Frederick and a blue-black dam, we like Gandiva so much we bought her back to try her with our new stud! She's about as cruisy as alpacas come. We're keeping two of her daughters for our breeding program (a third, Isari, is reluctantly for sale above) and are hoping for another one before we sell her again. Her 2015 fleece was 28.7 micron.

Gandiva

Zuzaan

DOB: 24 November 2012 - medium grey
IAR: 1012491
Price: $900 +GST 2-in-1!
A daughter of AlpacaSpecialist Ceasar and Greenacres Jodie, Zuzaan's striking fleece is a standout in the paddock and the envy of handspinners. She produced a lovely black boy last year, now weaned. Where Zuzaan tends to give you a dubious side-eye, her boy Axton looks right at you -- so cute. Anyway, we are reluctantly parting with her, so choose your stud and spin the color wheel! Zuzaan's 2015 fleece was 28.7 micron.

Aunties

Blaze and Boo, having a snack. If you are thinking of getting a few pet wether boys to keep the grass down on your lifestyle block, or to "get your feet wet" before getting into breeding, consider starting with some experienced adult females instead.

If you have a small group of breeding females, you may want a few more inexpensive animals to bulk up your herd (alpacas are much happier in groups). They can help the younger mothers with the babysitting, and since these more mature gals tend to be the natural leaders, once you get them onside (most respond well to regular bribes), they can help you with your routine management, by going where you want them to go and leading the others along, staying calm in stressful situations like shearing, and generally being sensible when some of the younger girls can get a bit silly.

We are quite willing to work out package deals so long as these gals go to a good home.

Cindy

DOB: 6 July 2002 - light fawn
IAR: 47450
Price: POA
Homerange Cinnamon Snow has been a favourite of ours since we bought her, but she is now due for a much-deserved retirement. Cindy is a quiet, gentle soul, and we'll only let her go if we can be sure she'll be doted on (not that she really needs it), possibly as company for her daughter Helvetica, listed above?
